Curved pi-conjunction, aromaticity, and the related chemistry of small fullerenes (
Article Abstract:
The curved pi-conjunction within small fullerenes (C<60) and single-walled carbon nanotubes as well as their unusual chemical properties that are related to their curved pi-conjugation and aromaticity are presented. Small fullerenes are very reactive due to their highly strained cage structures thus it is impossible or extremely difficult to isolate them in the pure molecular form.

The magnetic shielding function of molecules and pi-electron delocalization
Article Abstract:
Special emphasis is given to the computation of the magnetic shielding function associated to the response of a molecule toward an external magnetic field. The special properties of aromatic molecules induced by a magnetic perturbation are discussed in terms of the magnetic shielding function, the ring current model and the electron delocalization.

Nucleus-independent chemical shifts (NICS) as an aromaticity criterion
Article Abstract:
The nucleus-independent chemical shifts (NICS) magnetic criteria of aromaticity is validated, refined and improved considerably. NICS is widely used to characterize aromaticity and antiaromaticity not only of cyclic molecular systems but also of transition states, transition metal complexes, three-dimensional clusters and others.
